Sea Girt Police Communications
Sea Girt Police employ 4 full time communications officers and is supplemented by several part-time communications officers. This allows us to provide communications services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The duties of our communications
officers cover a wide array of daily tasks. They are responsible for
answering all phone calls placed to the police and fire departments and must
route all calls to the appropriate personnel. They also receive 9-1-1
relays from the Monmouth County Police Radio 9-1-1 operators. They monitor
and respond to all radio calls received by the police and fire departments.
They keep a record of all the daily events which occur in the Police
The Sea Girt Police Department maintains a Computer Aided Dispatch system known as a CAD system. This system allows our dispatchers track all calls and events within our department. It logs all the response times and any narrative information entered by the dispatcher. It then collects the names of all people involved in the event. This information is also sent to an officers mobile computer installed in the patrol vehicle. This dispatcher will also be able to view previous calls at any location in the Borough as well as see emergency contact information for any location who provided their information to our department. This system will also allow this dispatcher to send an officer to any call silently which means sensitive information does not need to be broadcast over the police radio system. Screen shots are of our computer aided dispatch systems Dispatch Console Screen and New Call Screen. The software used by the Sea Girt Police Department is Information Management Corporation or IMC.
